Bryan Volta’s sculptures reference reformation and realignment by focusing on processes that facilitate,
or interrupt intimacy and eroticism. Volta, who has worked as a pharmaceutical sleep medicine researcher
and an audio-visual technician, is inspired by what he calls “erotic potentials of the inorganic”
and the way in which proximity and mechanization can construct venerability. His works incorporate
industrial materials and mechanics with articles of clothing and processed foods, configured in such a way
that works with and against the residues of their function.
